A Score Ain’t Nothin’ but a Number

Posted by mcgeorgebarprep on July 9, 2013

…I think I’m quoting Mary J. Blige correctly.  In any case, a score on a practice exam is just a number, nothing more.  A score is NOT indicative of whether you can pass the bar!  One of our PPLW professors will tell you that she failed every single practice exam she took during her bar prep course, and then passed the exam itself.  How?  Because she paid attention to the feedback, not just the score, and she kept a positive attitude.  She graduated from an ABA-accredited school (McGeorge!), she wrote lots of practice exams and reviewed her answers, she stayed focused, and she knew she could do it.

That should be your mantra as well.  The more you focus on the negative, the more it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.  The good news is that the same is true for the positive!  So as we discussed yesterday, keep making mistakes, keep learning from those mistakes, and hold on to the belief — not just the hope — that you absolutely can do this!  One and done!!
