Parking

Posted by mcgeorgebarprep on July 7, 2011

Planning your route and resolving parking issues before exam day will help eliminate unnecessary stress.  Drive to the testing location on a weekday at the same time that you will drive there during the exam so you can get a feeling for traffic, crowds, and which lots are open at what times.  (While you’re there, go inside and explore the location itself — the exam room, bathrooms, places to decompress at lunchtime, etc.)  Check out the City of Sacramento’s Parking Services site and the map below for information about off-street and on-street parking in the area.

If you don’t mind walking 10-12 blocks to and from your vehicle, this might be an option to consider (call the listed phone number, 916-808-5110, for details):

Bicycle Parking:
There are bicycle racks near Starbucks at 13th Street near J Street, as well as in front of the box office at 1301 L Street. There are also usually bicycle racks inside the various parking decks (just expect to share them with a lot of other bikes). For maximum security, remember to bring a lock that will lace through both of the wheels and the frame of your bicycle; in fact, you might even consider using both a chain lock and a U-lock just to be safe.
